Sacred Heart church suffered from past renovations. In 2005, Father Larry Zurek began planning a renovation for the
100 year anniversary of the church's dedications. His goal was to renovate the interior with a unified, traditional,
Romanesque design. Our challenge was to make it more beautiful and glorious than ever.
The new design included:
- Twenty-Seven Fine Art Paintings - Seven paintings in the sanctuary depicting The Life of Christ. Twenty paintings on the nave walls depicting Saints and Blesseds of the Americas.
- New Stained Glass Windows Throughout the Church - Designed by Murals by Jericho. Fabricated and installed by Century Art Glass, St. Louis, MO
- All New Slab Marble Flooring Throughout the Sanctuary and Nave - Five marble designs symbolizing the Five Wounds of Christ inlaid into the nave isles.
- Decorative Faux Painting and Gilding
- Lighting Design
- Restored Stations of the Cross
- Figural Stained Glass Windows for Choir Loft - Created and Installed by our friends at Hardman Trading Company, Birmingham, UK
- Sanctuary Furnishings - Salvaged marble high altar and side altars and marble statuary.
New marble ambo and altar rails (Mazzolini Art Craft Co., Cleveland, OH).
Altar of Sacrifice - new carved marble angels and new altar top to enhance the surviving decorative pieces from the original high altar (Mazzolini).
