St. Mary's church suffered from past renovations. An attempt to modernize the interior rendered this beautiful church, stark and uninspiring. Murals by Jericho proposed an entire redesign of the sanctuary and redecoration of the nave that restores the original liturgical and architectural intentions. Our new design includes three painted murals inspired by the masterpieces of W.A. Bouguereau in the sanctuary apse and inset side chapel arches. Additional trompe l'oeil elements in the side chapel arches create a harmonious design that includes sculptures of Mary and Joseph. We also painted trompe l'oeil elements in arches above stained glass windows throughout the nave. The floor plan of the sanctuary was reconfigured by moving the stairs back, creating an angle back towards the side chapels on either side of central sancturary. This allowed for extra pews to be placed in front and added aesthetic appeal to the sanctuary design.
The sanctuary stair treads and risers were fabricated from new slab marble. New altar of sacrifice, reredos, ambo, baptismal
and holy water fonts, and pedestals for statuary, designed by Murals by Jericho, were fabricated of Calcutta gold marble to
replace the former modern oak furnishings.
